I used to love browsin shops with my wife - and still do from time to time - but my tolerance is a lot less because we browse in completely different ways.
Here's another gender stereotype for you, Loopy! (I know you love the stereotyping of the sexes! Lol!) I, as a man, can stand in the doorway of a shop - or at the very most, have a 30 second wander - and see if there is something to appeal to me. Andrea, as a woman, likes to look at every item of clothing on every rail. Whether she likes it or not, she checks if they have it in their size, thus taking hours to browse round each shop. When I shop with most other women, they are the same!
Supermarket food shopping, we do independently. I tend to plan better for the week, knowing how many meals we need to prepare and planning to cook them or freeze bits ahead of time. My wife tends to buy what appeals to her as she walks round, or buys lots of non-freezable stuff with a very short sell-by date! But I'll often go for stuff that I've seen on TV or is on offer, whereas she won't!
We rarely go short of stuff!

I do like on-line shopping though, especially groceries - you can be far less swayed by the lure of shiny things that look tasty!
