Mathmatical and theroetical facts.

I heard that theoretically, if you could fold a piece of a4 paper in half 50 times, the thickness would be so much that the paper would be long enough to reach the moon.

Do you know any other facts on these lines?

More biological, but if you flatten out a human lung (as they are many many veins and hollows, just take the surface area) it would be big enough to cover a tennis court.

It is impossible to fold (manually) a piece of paper in half more than 7 times.

If a hydrogen were blown up so that the nucleus was the size of a football, the electron orbit would reach a little beyond our milky way.

Facts is it, these aren't all maths but they all start with "if":

If all the empty space were removed from all the atoms in the universe, the resulting matter would only be about the size of a grapefruit.

If you were to take all the newspapers printed in the U.S. any give day and lay the sheets out edge to edge, you could cover an area the size of New York City

If Microsoft were a nation, it's revenue would be the 16th highest GDP in the world.

If you are indoors, there is a 92 percent chance you are sharing the room with at least one spider as you read this

If all the post-it notes sold every year were laid end to end, they would wrap around the globe eight times.

If Oregon, Washington and California were countries, each would consume more coffee than all other countries except the U.S. combined.

If all the cups used at Starbucks over the course of a year were laid end-to-end they would reach to the moon and back.

If all the salt were removed from the world's oceans, sea level would drop 11 feet.

If you have a car that does not use an electronic key, it is more likely than not that you have met someone else whose key could open and start your car.

If current trends continue, a hard disk big enough to hold every web page on the internet today will cost less than $200 in 10 years.

If earth had a gravitational pull similar to Jupiter's, even the strongest humans would have great difficulty lifting a penny

These are just the facts beginning with 'If' from the last 4 months of 2004 courtesy of www.guillible.info there's a newsletter you can sign up to, its not sent out as often as the site is updated and will only have some of the facts but they are normally good, there's a little thing from the author's at the bottom of it to boot.

If you laid all the girls from Essex end-to-end .... Sorry that's already been done :<}

If Bob had been your aunty, instead of your uncle, then your dad would have had a sister and not a brother.
