what's the opposite of a misogynist (ie. woman who hates men)? And why do you never hear the word - as there's an awful lot of them about?

Misandrist - misos = hatred, andros = man, gyne(ca) = woman, all Greek
Misandry is a silent hate. Judith Levene has a lot to say about this in her book "My love, my enemy" (or the other way round, would have to hunt for the book). I recommend you read her!
