I do believe, somewhere amongst their pages, most dictionaries say how many words in the edition.

as said, it depends on the dictionary. the Compact Oxford English Dictionary of Current English contains 145,000 words. however, the full Oxford English Dictionary, which is currently available as a 20-volume print edition, includes about 301,100 main entries, 157,000 combinations and derivatives and 169,000 phrases and combinations, making a total of 616,500 word-forms.
