If you could cure the world of one medical ailment what would it be?

Personally I would opt for cancer as I have known several people who have suffered with cancer so if I could cure one thing I think that would be it..My real aunt died from lung cancer not so long ago, so I know how painful it can be losing a family member...How about you?

Cancer. I've seen too many people die from cancer. If I could I would cure it.

Apart from cancer, I'd like to see a real cure for depression.
So many people's lives are ruined by this.

For me and for selfish reasons it would have to be epilepsy, to have to watch someone you love fit and know there is nothing you can do or say to help them breaks my heart every time it happens. I know most people will say it isn't life threatening but a friend of ours died having an attack and when you have to start your own daughters breathing during one of her fits you really get a new perspective on it.

The big C is certainly one to cure. Up next, possibly HIV.

Saying that, curing the common cold may be a good one too - less lives saved, I admit, but quality of life increases.

The last one to cure, once we've sorted out a whole bunch of other stuff, would be old age. I'm including this as an "ailment" as basically all your organs start to deteriorate. However, curing this is a two edged sword as then there'd be a population explosion unless we all stop procreating :-)

I would opt for a cure for cancer, since both my in-laws died from the disease, and suffered long painful deaths. Noone should have to go through that, in my opinion.
