Being an English comic it is probably not possible for Americans to like Benny as much as he deserves.

i am american :) i think i remember a bit of Benny Hill from my youth, but i can tell you most people under 40 probably don't know who he is.

When I lived there I was mortified to be associated with that travesty of comedy.
Sadly they do find it enormously entertaining which might say more about the entertained than the "entertainer."
