Historically teatime wass around 4pm and traditionally you had a light snack to tide you through to supper which was the main meal of the day.

Now teatime is usually when people have their main meal and can be from 5-8 pm. It differs from household to household depending on work and other commitments.

I think this varies now according to peoples lifestyles. Those with children will tend to eat earlier 4-6pm, while those whose households are mainly adult may find it more convienient to eat later 6-8pm:)

10am, 3pm and 9pm were my teatimes when brought up on the croft ( a smallholding with animals like a mini farm). You also have the 3 main meals Breakfast, Dinner and Supper.

Teatime also can be a short break at work sometimes called a teabreak and the times will vary depending on your shift

Also "Teatime" often refers to main evening meal of the day and eaten anywhere between 4pm and 7pm and sometimes even later.

Lastly some call teatime the last snack of the day had around 8pm -10pm

the only meal that has a set name that doesn't chance seams to be breakfast the rest of the meals are called different things by different people, like lunch, dinner and supper or tea oh and also "brunch" is most commonly eaten at the weekend.

High tea, Afternoon Tea or just Tea, traditionally at 4 p.m.

Used to be a light meal with dainty sandwiches and cakes. Nowadays more likely to be a cuppa and a biscuit.

On holiday in the West Country scones with jam and cream are compulsary.
