Suppose Obama is elected President. Would we then have to call The White House something else?

Following Shane's question "Is this racist?" http://iq.lycos.co.uk/qa/show/60937/?&aid=188961#a188961 copy, it occurred to me that perhaps many changes might result from an Obama election, to demonstrate America's thus-confirmed racial equality. More chocolate milk in school lunch programs. "I'm dreaming of a blanced Christmas". All sandwiches made with one slice white bread, one slice whole wheat. But should The White House be repainted? What shade or tint would be appropriate?

Remembering that there was some objection to the term ´blackboard´in schools - though why anything can´t be described by using it´s colour is beyond me - I wouldn´t be surprised if there are complaints about the White House.
Will oranges have to be called something else?
Or greens, to prevent upsetting aliens from another planet?
Of course White Christmas is banned on two counts.
I really can´t believe how out of hand all this pc stuff has got. As with many things there were good reasons, some terms are offensive and should be banned ........... but where is the reason in all this now?
The building is painted white ........ what on earth is wrong with that?

Supplement from 07/19/2008 06:22pm:

I just had an idea, for the sake of all the gay people in USA paint it pink - the pink dollar, as we know, is more valuable than any other kind, why not have a Pink House?

I could see a point of offence, if the edifice had been called The "Whitey" House However. It was not... So, what's the problem?

I'm not sure this issue is quite as black and white as you suggest, ho-ho. I'm English so it's not really my affair, but under the last President, I'd have painted the place grey....more for his personality than his cerebral matter. Under Nixon, it was a nice shade of whitewash. Under Clinton, it was whatever colour Bill decided to tell you it was.
As a Limey, I confess to not knowing immediately WHAT colour I'd paint it during an Obama presidency. This has nothing to do with his ethnicity and everything to do with his vague 'direction'. Do you as Americans think you know what he's about? The Obamafication of politics is all very well, but 'Yes we can' gives me about as much clue as 'no we can't'. I thought our New Labour had topped anything for vacuity with 'Forward not back', but the mighty Barack trumped that one.
So I suppose the final, final answer from me is that under an Obama administration the White House would be painted all the colours of the spectrum. Or all the colours of a chamelion - whichever is the greater.
Trust me, either of these options would be better than painting Parliament Brown.
Good luck JW

Kent, sorry, I love you, but I find your question utterly ridiculous. Can we just see the leader without seeing his colour? To suggest that he will now want the entire world to be half black is petty and unfair. Obama has gotten to where he is in spite of his racial background, not because of it. If he can rise past all the silly and meaningless prejudices that are out there, can't we do the same?

I have always tried to be honest with people : one might suggest that I always call a spade a spade :-D but if anything is done at all to the White House I would suggest it is chromed, then it would reflect the colours all around.

I think your humour is a little off colour but mine is probably worse. It is better to consider me as having NO sense of humour.

Ha ha ha ha ha.
