Coldplay or Snow patrol, and why?

Coldplay...because this is one of my favourite songs...

snow patrol sound less whiny, and generally their music sounds less depressing.

i mean, just compare "chasing cars" with "i will try to fix you"...

i'm not familiar with the back catalogue of either band, i just pick up on what i like, and what i don't.

i like snow patrol, to a certain extent, and i dislike coldplay to the same extent (ie, one song's worth).

Coldplay. Because when their first album came out I loved it TOO much and I can still put on parachutes and be transported back...I've kind of outgrown Coldplay now but they will always have that place in my heart and I will always have time for "spies", "sparks", "speed" and "yellow". I bought the Snow Patrol album but I was already much too sophisticated for it and I gave it to my 15 year old sister.

I have to I have a soft spot for Snow Patrol as they were at Glastonbury 3 years ago which was a special time for me. Much prefered their older stuff. Had a pathalogical hatred of Cold play until new album which is growing on me especially When I Ruled the World. In many ways its like asking whether you would prefer root canal treatment or extraction!
