Is it possible to use drag and drop with an ipod instead of itunes ?

If i drag and drop songs to my ipod, it simply recognises it as data and the songs are not playable...

Nope, it's not possible. You need itunes or winamp with the ipod plugin, I think there's a way of getting windows media player to do it as well, but can't remember it. You can't simply drag and drop though.
